About this Event
A fun, friendly creative camp for children and teens who stammer!
📅 Monday 6th – Friday 10th July 2026
📍 Dublin 1
💶 €100 for the week (subsidy available on request)
🕙 Each day runs 10:00am–2:00pm
🎨 Lights, camera, create!
This year's camp has all the usual fun of ISAYiT! with some extra special art activities! This year, we'll be exploring two exciting art forms:
🖌️ Graffiti Art & Bubble Letters with Daniele Rossi: learn how to draw cartoon letters and iconic bubble writing to design your own graffiti. As a group, we'll create a huge paper graffitti wall!
🎬 Stop Motion Animation with Siún O'Connor: learn the techniques behind stop motion and create your own animation!
Plus:
🎭 Drama games and classic camp group games such as Zip Zap Boing, Splat, Wink M**der!
🎥 And.... ISAYiT's Got Talent is back by popular demand! In between art activities and group games, we'll have time to create acts for ISAYiTS Got Talent. Last year, we had animal impressions, magic tricks, dance, jokes, book reviews, music, show & tell and even an invisible tennis match!
On the final day of the camp, we'll showcase everything we've made at our end-of-week display! (NB There is no day trip on the final day because we have so many activities to fit in this year!) 🌟
Each day runs from 10:00am–2:00pm. Bring your lunch and a small amount of money to buy an ice-cream at the shop!
This is a really fun, confidence-building week where young people who stammer can meet others who stammer in a relaxed space. We have 2 rules:
- Stammering is entitled to time (everyone has time and space to say what they want to say)
- Have lots of fun!
The summer camp is led by experienced ISA youth team members: Penny Farrell, Jonathon Linklater, and Aisling Keogh. Our youth mentors will also be there on hand. Many of them used to attend the summer camp and now come back to volunteer!
🎥 Curious to know more about our summer camp is like? Watch these highlights from 2024!
Thank you to NYCI, the Arts Council and the Department of Education and Youth for providing ISA with a Youth Arts Explorer grant which allows us to host these art workshops . This gives young people who stammer a fantastic opportunity to access youth arts in a stammer-affirming setting!
FAQs
My child is a bit shy – how can you help them feel comfortable?
We’ll have a relaxed, friendly online meetup the week before camp so that everyone can get to know each other before the first day.
You can also book a 1:1 welcome call with Penny (our Youth Development Officer) if your child would prefer a chat ahead of time!
Is there an online version of the camp?
This camp is in-person only. ISA runs regular online groups like our 8–12s Kids Club, Minecraft Club and “Stammering and…” events so there’s something for everyone all year round! We appreciate it means travelling to Dublin but it's worth the trip! There will be an option to join the Graffitti art workshop online. Details to be published soon!
What if the ticket cost is a barrier?
Please don’t let cost be a reason to miss out. Please get in touch with Penny and we can discuss options: [email protected]
I'm interested in volunteering as a Youth Mentor
We would love to hear from you! Please contact Penny.
If you have any other questions, please get in touch with Penny Farrell (ISA Youth Development Officer) [email protected]
