Abstract:

The United States (US) will be choosing a new President on 5 November 2024. The choice will be between the Democrat nominee – current Vice-President Kamala Harris – and former president, Donald Trump – the Republican nominee. The new president will assume office from January 2025. In a fragile world order where major power competition and regional conflicts have complicated international relationships, there is great attention on how the new US president will engage India and deal with South Asia.

In response, the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) at the National University of Singapore will organise a panel discussion to explore these critical dynamics, offering fresh perspectives and insights on the future of US-South Asia relations.
