Isadora Goes Chelsea! (Preview Night)

The Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation is pleased to present “Isadora Goes Chelsea!”, an exciting series of pop-up immersive dance performances featuring Lori Belilove & The Isadora Duncan Dance Company and taking place February 13th-16th, 2025, in Chelsea, New York.

Directed by Lori Belilove as the first in a series of Isadora150 programs designed to honor Duncan’s legacy, the event will embrace contemporary artistic collaborations. Join us on those dates to experience an immersive performance merging Duncan’s timeless dance style and repertoire with Chelsea’s artistic energy.

This unique event features "Living Sculpture Gallery Performances" in which the Company dancers are positioned like living sculpture who gradually animate to stunning dancing, enhanced by dramatic lighting. The setting echoes the avant-garde “happenings” of mid-20th-century New York, blurring the lines between performer and audience. Framed artwork and archival photographs, video projections, curious and classic quotes by Isadora and her admirers will line the walls, enriching the immersive experience. The performances will feature Duncan pieces set to music by Chopin, Brahms and Gluck, as well as choreography by Belilove, complimented by music by contemporary composers Brian Eno, Rene Aubry and Max Richter.
