About this Event
Join us for a talk and Q&A with senior Economist editor and former editor of the New York Times Opinion page James Bennet on what the 2024 presidential campaign teaches us about the current state of media.
With so many Americans now getting their political news from podcasts, social media, and other decentralized—and often highly partisan—sources, is it time to retire the term "mainstream media"? And to what extent have legacy media organizations contributed to their own demise? Finally, given the commercial and technological forces that are splintering the current landscape, is there any hope for reconstituting a more broad-based public audience for news?
This event is co-sponsored by the Parrhesia Program for Public Thought and Discourse and the Point Program for Public Thinking.
