Irreplaceable Love: An Operatic Recital

A classical voice recital featuring Purcell, Brahms, Faure, Rorem, Zemlinsky, Donizetti, and more!

This program is made up of irreplaceable, loving moments, from the playful push and pull of early courtship to the sobering yet endlessly restoring bittersweetness of recalling a great love that has now passed. In between there are songs dedicated to falling asleep together, dying together, and sneaking out at the witching hour to experience the night’s splendor together. “Irreplaceable Love” also explores more abstract and lofty ideals of love: love for one’s country, and love for humanity as a whole, in spite of its flaws. Finally, the audience will be treated to the operatic heroine Norina, the young widow and diva soprano at the heart of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. Through her devious scheming and proclamations of love’s magic, she charms us with the bravery of her heart in the face of her own tragic, premature loss.

Lynn Wang, soprano is an up-and-coming opera singer in Los Angeles presenting a recital program that celebrates the collaboration between voice and piano. Join us at the Pacific Opera Project HQ for a Sunday matinee of classical vocal poetry, operatic comedy, and the unparalleled accompaniment of Dr. Tali Tadmor, piano. Jamie Sanderson, baritone will also appear as a special musical guest.
