The year is 1922. In the mountain passes of the Crowsnest, Alberta rum is moving south across the border into a dry United States — and the men moving it are running on railroad time. Three decades earlier, a conductor's watch stopped for four minutes on an Ohio rail line, eleven people died, and the American watch industry was changed forever. By the Prohibition years, those precision instruments were everywhere — including on the chains of the men who knew when the next southbound freight crossed the border, and looked the other way.

Join Ironhorse Timepieces for an evening that brings that world back to life, through stories of Alberta's rum running era in the early 20th century and the story of the railroad pocket watch — why it existed, what it took to make it, and why the same precision timekeeping standards governed both the conductors and the contraband.

The evening includes a guided tasting of three of Romero's award-winning rums, two signature prohibition-era cocktails, and light snacks. Ironhorse timepieces from the era will be on display throughout, each carrying its own story from the period.
