“The Largest Irish Festival on the East Coast” begins on Thursday, September 19th and concludes on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Once again we are looking forward to having record crowds.
This Festive Four Day Event is sponsored by the Cape May County, James J. Reilly, Division 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH). The AOH is an organization which fosters and preserves Irish culture and heritage.
The Festival activities begin on Thursday, September 19th, at 8 AM with the AOH Irish Open Golf Tournament at Cape May National Golf Course, Route 9 and Fairway Drive, (2 miles south of Route 47). The fee is $130.00 on or before September 8th and $140.00 after September 8th and includes green fee and cart, lunch, refreshments and many prizes. Space is limited and reservations are suggested. BOXING is back! On Thursday evening, ten amateur boxing bouts will feature Boxers from NJ, PA DE & NY representing the U.S.A. vs. the Crumlin Boxing Club from Dublin, Ireland. Doors open at 5:30 PM and first bell is at 6:30 PM and takes place at Wildwood Catholic Academy in North Wildwood, NJ. In Advance Tickets prices are $30 General Admission, $40 Premium Seats and $50 Ringside and $40 General Admission at the door. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the FESTIVITIES will take place on Olde New Jersey Avenue, beginning at 8 AM each morning until 7 PM. Here the street vendors will display their Irish memorabilia, and the food vendors will offer a variety of Irish and non-Irish treats, while patrons are enjoying Free Live Entertainment on Friday and Saturday continuously from 12noon until 8:30 PM. Opening Ceremony will start at 11:45AM with the singing of the National and Irish Anthems.

Featured performers include: Brothers McGillian, Natterjacks, Birmingham 6, Broken Shillelaghs, McHugh and Company, Ballina, and Timmy Kelly In addition, Peters School of Dance, Emerald Isle School of Dance and Shades of Green School of Dance, will perform throughout both days

Saturday begins with the Irish Jog, a 5K RUN & 1 Mile Walk. The cost to run is $30. You can per-register at www.runsignup.com/Race/NJ/Wildwood/IrishJog5K. There will be race day registration at 8 AM at the AOH tent (between 1st and 2nd Avenues) on Olde New Jersey Avenue.
Saturday at 10 AM the BRIAN RILEY PIPE EXHIBITION will take place at Bill Henfey Park located at 8th and Central Avenues, North Wildwood. This event attracts thousands of spectators every year. Come see and hear some of the Best Pipe Bands in the East!
Also on Saturday, the AOH/LAOH will host Free IRISH DANCE LESSONS at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 206 N. New York Avenue, North Wildwood from 10 AM until 12noon. All are welcome.
On Sunday, Everyone is welcome to celebrate our faith and heritage at Saint Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in the Notre Dame de la Mer Parish, Glenwood and Atlantic Avenues, for 10:30 AM MASS. There will be a procession starting at the main entrance to the altar by the Protectors of the Faith Guards, the Cape May County Emerald Society Honor Guard and a liturgical bag piper soloist.
Sunday at 12:30 PM, the PARADE begins at 20th and Surf Avenues and will continue to Spruce and Olde New Jersey Avenues. The parade features many fraternal organizations, bag pipe bands, Irish dance groups and much, much more. Once again, Bob Kelly will join us, as well as a few other special guests.
All AOH and Irish organizations are welcome to be a part of this celebration of Irish history and heritage.
Irish food and entertainment will be available at most of the clubs and pubs in North Wildwood all weekend long.
Jitney service will be available in North Wildwood on Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 AM. The Irish Loop Jitney will depart from the festival area via 3rd Avenue, South on Surf Avenue to 26th Avenue then return North on Surf Avenue to 4th Avenue and into the festival area. $3.00 Fare Each Way
