About this Event
Dr. David Murphy is a graduate of University College, Dublin and Trinity College, Dublin. At present he works as a lecturer in military history and strategic studies at Maynooth University. He has also lectured abroad at various institutions including the Dutch Military Academy, Breda, West Point Military Academy, South African Military Academy Saldanha and the US Command and Staff College, Fort Leavenworth.
In 2018 he was elected as a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and is currently a visiting fellow at the Changing Character of Warfare Centre, University of Oxford.
Publications include (2015) and (2011) among others.
In 2004 he became the first Irish scholar to be awarded a fellowship to the West Point Summer Seminar in Military History.
This talk will take place in the lecture room on the west side of the Royal Hospital courtyard, doors open at 5.20pm.
