Celebrate St. Patrick's Day New Orleans Style with the annual Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade!
The Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade is a cherished New Orleans tradition, celebrating Irish heritage since 1947. In 2025, the festivities are scheduled as follows:
1) Practice March
Date & Time: Friday, March 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Starting Point: Jackson Square
Scheduled Stops:
- Ryan’s Irish Pub
- The Kerry Irish Pub
- Erin Rose Irish Pub
- Irish Museum
- Boondock Saint Irish Pub
- Fahy’s Irish Pub
- 801 Royal
- Mississippi River Bottom (MRB)
This event is exclusive to club members and serves as a prelude to the main parade.
2) Parade Day
Date: Saturday, March 15, 2025
Parade Start Time: 1:00 p.m.
- Pre-Parade Mass: 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Assumption Church, 923 Josephine St., New Orleans. The mass is open to the public.
- Route: The parade begins at Magazine Street and Felicity Street, proceeds down Jackson Avenue, continues along St. Charles Avenue, turns onto Louisiana Avenue, and concludes on Magazine Street. This route highlights the historic Irish Channel neighborhood.
3) Block Party
- Date: Monday, March 17, 2025
- Time: 9:00 a.m. onwards
- Location: Annunciation Square Playground
- Beneficiary: Proceeds support St. Michael's Special School.
The block party features Irish music, dance performances, food from local vendors, arts and crafts booths, and beverages. It's a family-friendly event that brings the community together in celebration.
