The IRC Steel Challenge offers guests a chance to shoot as fast as their ability allows at the action pistol field and features 10-14 steel targets which include silhouettes, round, and square. Targets are engaged in any sequence and reloads will be preformed. Participants may bring their semi-automatic pistols and/or semi-automatic "pistol caliber carbines". This event is caliber specific, only .22, .22 magnum, .25 automatic .380, 9mm, .40 cal, .45, 10mm, .38 Super, .38 special and .357 magnum are allowed due to safety and muzzle velocities. The Challenge will be overseen and governed by a Range Officer at all times. Participants must be registered to utilize the facility and are encouraged to sign up at the Main Office. The challenge is held the last Friday of every month, September-May, beginning at 9:00 am. The cost to participate is $20.00 plus tax which includes entry on the rifle and pistol ranges.
