Aleph är en dans för de försvunna.
Föreställningen är en meditation över livets början och mänsklighetens strävan mot finalitet. Denna önskan att möta ett slut uppenbarar sig hos de orakel och profeter spridda utigenom mänsklighetens historia – de talar om en undergång som kan spåras till början av varje mänskligt liv. Mysteriet som döljer sådana begynnelser är en referenspunkt för att antyda en dans bortom vad förnuftet förstår – trons värld.
Iraqi Bodies har i över 15 år skapat starkt visuella föreställningar med en säregen stil som ligger i skärningspunkten mellan rörelse, gest och röst. I deras sökande efter ett radikalt scenspråk är medvetenhetens poetik ett absolut givet. Kompaniet är baserat i Göteborg och leds av konstnärliga ledarna Anmar Taha & Josephine Gray.

Aleph is a dance for the lost ones.
The performance is a meditation upon the beginning of life and humanity’s desire towards finality. This desire towards an end of all things is evident from the oracles and prophets scattered across human history – they speak of a doom that can be traced to the very beginning of each human life. The mystery that veils such beginnings is a point of reference for intimating a dance beyond that which reason fathoms – the world of faith.
Over the past 15 years Iraqi Bodies has created highly visual performances with a distinctive style that lies at the intersection of movement, gesture and voice. The poetics of awareness is an absolute given in their continued search for a radical scenic language. The company is based in Gothenburg and led by artistic directors Anmar Taha & Josephine Gray.
