IofC USA Circle Up Reading Community

The Circle Up Reading Program aims to build community. By reading, learning, questioning, discussing, and growing together, we get that much closer to moving beyond the divisions that keep us apart and towards the truths that bind us together.

Our next event will be on Tuesday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Richmond Hill, located at . Dinner will begin at 6:30, followed by our conversation about our next book at 7:15 p.m.

Our next book is The Making of Twenty-First Century Richmond by Thad Williamson, Julian M. Hayter, and Amy L. Howard. According to the authors, they use "...Richmond's recent history as a means to understand contemporary urban crisis and responses to them" and "examines the operation of power and the pursuit of community problem-solving within the context of institutionalized, structural inequality and racism."

Please join IofC USA on this new journey as we learn, discuss, and fellowship with friends, both old and new. Our Reading Community provides a great opportunity to meet your fellow Richmonders and share a meal, have a discussion, and hold space to gain a wider, more diverse, and more inclusive perspective. Together, we'll equip ourselves with a united vision and bold aspiration for forging a new, more just future here at home, in cities across the nation, and with changemakers across the world.

Books are available for pick up at the Concierge desk at the Common House at 303 West Broad Street in downtown Richmond. Please present your Eventbrite ticket, physical or digital, to receive a copy of the book.

Limited parking is available at Richmond Hill, and ample street parking is also available right outside. Make sure to type 2209 East Grace Street in your GPS!
