Invocation of the Great Forest Mother: A Slavic Native Faith Eco-Activism Ritual

The climate crisis is a call to rebirth. We cry out in pain and fear and it is our Mother Who hears us. In this Slavic Native Faith ritual led by my inclusive Rodnover group, the Circle of Rodu, we will call upon the Great Forest Mother (Velika Šumska Majka in Serbian) and Her retinue of spirits to aid, inspire, and empower us while *also* holding us accountable for our actions as stewards of our increasingly fragile planet and its dwindling natural resources.
Each attendee will be given a parchment and twine to write a pledge/oath of service that binds us to our Mother, an oath to take at least one realistic, concrete step of action to help effect positive changes in the communities we live in and in the imperiled wild spaces that are other creatures' homes. Through chant and dance, we will summon the Ancient Ones as we pledge commitments to protect the land where we live. Now, more than ever, those of us who adhere to earth-centered spiritual traditions are being called to step up and prove that our beliefs truly are reflected in our daily actions. Let's set the examples for others to follow!
