Invisible Threads
Group Exhibition
Artworks that explore the invisible forces and connections that bind people, places, or objects together. These connections could be emotional, psychological, historical, or even metaphysical. The exhibition could feature conceptual work that interprets unseen energies, networks, or relationships.

Fran De Anda "Prophets"
Solo Exhibition
These Prophets are beings who have had contact with something higher—in this case “The Nature” from which they have received the mission of communicating messages or revelations, which are interpreted directly or symbolically to restore communication between all species in the world and find eternal balance.

Susannah Carson "Heroines in Bloom"
Miniature Room Solo Exhibition
THE PORTRAITS: Inspired by literature, my portraits have novelistic titles that hint at the escapades of their heroines. Although the portraits capture a moment of stillness, these busy heroines have been caught in media res and their stories of romance, adventure, and longing extend before and after, with the outcome of their plots exciting and unknown. The most engaging novels tend to be those in which the protagonists have depth, complexity, and what Harold Bloom called “inwardness”. Even though these are just quick portrait glimpses of that inwardness, the little heroines look out at us unapologetically and with a sort of welcoming intimacy to remind us that we, likewise, are the plucky protagonists of our own lives.
THE CHINA: These paintings are set in antique saucers and dishes which not only work as unexpected frames but add a layer of historical narrative on top of the origin story. Each piece has a unique blend, so that some are more romantic, some more sophisticated, some bolder, and some more full of nostalgia and longing. The “Bloom” is a reference not only to the great literary critic who was my mentor, but also to the blossoming of nothing less than life itself as we learn to step into our stories. With a subtle reference to the historically circumscribed “women’s sphere” of tea parties and idle gossip, these little works turn the tea tables over and allow their young heroines to write their stories rather than be written about. These botanicals are, as they have always been, very pretty and delicate, but they are also resolutely cheerful, joyful, and full of promise and hope.
