Investment Education Symposium

The Investment Education Symposium, held at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans, aims to advance knowledge and leadership in institutional investing, in conjunction with the Louisiana Trustee Education Council (LATEC). Celebrating its 21st Anniversary, this symposium is designed to provide comprehensive education and information on investing, fiduciary responsibility, and selection of money managers tailored for key decision-makers and representatives from the nation’s largest pension funds, endowments, foundations, and other institutional investors. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful exchanges of ideas and insights with other delegates and presenters who manage significant capital flows within both traditional and alternative investment spheres.
This event will feature dialogue-driven panel discussions led by leading consultants and institutional investors, ensuring a focus on educational content without the distraction of marketing agendas. To uphold the event's educational integrity, the use of PowerPoint presentations will be restricted; only standalone speakers will be permitted to use them during their presentations. The symposium will include sessions on legal education regarding the laws, rules, and regulations of institutional investing, providing attendees with two hours of legal education and an additional hour focused on fiduciary duty and ethics. This event targets a diverse audience, including pension representatives such as trustees, administrators, commissioners, and staff from Taft Hartley plans, as well as plan sponsors, pension trustees, non-discretionary consultants, and representatives from endowments and foundations. Complimentary access to the symposium is available for eligible attendees, subject to verification and approval by Opal Group, specifically for those who are allocators to third-party fund managers or are investing solely on their own behalf.
