🚩 The 9th annual Inverze International Literary Festival will take place in Ostrava from August 26–29, 2026 — join us and enjoy four days of readings, poetry, discussions, and gatherings throughout the city.
📅 The English-language programme of Inverze will take place on Friday 28 August at Fiducia and Saturday 29 August at Kulturní centrum Provoz. The festival will feature readings, poetry, discussions, workshops, concerts and a book fair, with a selection of events presented in English.

👤 The English-language programme will feature a selection of international guests, including:
🖋️ Ali Yansori (IRN / CZ) – Iranian philosopher, aesthetician and musicologist originally from Iran, who is permanently based in the Czech Republic. He works as an assistant professor at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, Palacký University Olomouc, and previously also worked at the University of Ostrava. His main academic interests include psychoanalysis, Sufism and aesthetics.
🖋️ Louis Armand (AUS / CZ) – Australian writer, poet, visual artist and literary theorist who has been living in Prague since 1994. His work combines experimental prose, poetry and critical theory, and he is a significant figure on the contemporary English-language literary scene in Central Europe.
🖋️ Medha Singh (IND / UK) – Poet originally from Delhi, now based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her poetry connects intimate experience with questions of embodiment, memory, language and cultural identity. She is the author of the poetry collection Afterbody and also works as a literary translator and editor. In 2023, she received the New Writers Award from the Scottish Book Trust.
🖋️ Stephan Delbos (USA / CZ) – American poet, playwright, translator and literary scholar. His work moves between poetry, theatre and literary criticism, and his plays have been staged in the US and the Czech Republic, including a piece on composer Bedřich Smetana. He is also an important translator of Czech literature into English, including works by Vítězslav Nezval, for which he received the PEN/Heim Translation Grant.
🖋️ Colin Herd (UK) – poet, fiction writer and critic from Edinburgh. His first collection of poems „too ok“ was published by BlazeVOX in 2011. A pamphlet, „like“, was published by Knives, Forks and Spoons Press in 2011 and a second full-length collection is forthcoming from Knives Forks and Spoons Press this year. He has published over 60 reviews and articles on art and literature in publications and has read and performed his work widely.
🖋️ Sami Rhymes (UK) – Award-winning British spoken word artist, poet and writer from London, active on the international scene. She began publishing poetry in childhood and has since established a strong presence in live literature, combining performance, spoken word and rhythmic musicality in her work. She debuted with the collection 20 Something and has appeared in several anthologies focused on Black experience and contemporary poetry.
