We are raising money to support our "Inventions of Hope" project and to purchase emergency medical supplies for Ukraine. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine in an intimate salon atmosphere as you listen to a performance by virtuoso Ukrainian pianist Anna Sagalova and a reading by Maria Reva, a Ukrainian-Canadian writer sanctioned by Russia. Composer Anna Pidgorna will guide you through the music. A cash bar will be available for additional beverages.
"Inventions of Hope" combines beloved inventions - little pieces for solo piano - by J.S. Bach with contemporary offerings by Ukrainian and Canadian composers, including a brand new work by Anna Pidgorna commissioned especially for Anna Sagalova. Your donation will support the creation of this new work and get your name into the musical score.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral to support their efforts to procure emergency medical supplies for Ukraine.
What will your donations get you?
$45 or more: Supporter
Your name will be included in the musical score in the list of donors who supported the commission of the new work by Anna Pidgorna.
$125 or more: Connoisseur
In addition to the Supporter benefits, you will receive a signed copy of the complete musical score when we premiere the work in 2025.
$300 or more: Patron
In addition to the Connoisseur benefits, you'll get your name next to one of the pieces in the collection as its commissioner and influence the composition. Choose a region of Ukraine that is particularly dear to you and Anna Pidgorna will work with a folk melody from that region in her original composition. Choose a person or group to whom you want to dedicate the work. The piece will have a dedication like this under the title: “Dedicated to [name] with generous support by [name] with inspiration from [region].”
