Join Credit Valley Conservation and Town of Halton Hills staff and the Halton Hills Turtle Guardians to learn about Phragmites, one of Ontario’s most aggressive invasive plants, and other invasive plants at Prospect Park and Fairy Lake.

Bring the family and discover how to identify phragmites, understand its impacts on wetlands and wildlife, and learn what is being done to manage its spread.

Whether you're a nature enthusiast, local resident, or simply interested in protecting our environment, this is a great opportunity to explore the shoreline, ask questions, and connect with others who care about healthy ecosystems.

The Acton Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP) is a community-driven roadmap to make Acton healthier, greener, and ready for the future. It brings together residents, local businesses, institutions, and partners to protect nature, improve water quality, and build a climate‑resilient neighbourhood where people and nature thrive.

What to Wear & Bring:

• Wear a hat, and closed-toe shoes.
• Your own reusable water bottle (we have water to refill from).
• Sunscreen and bug spray.
• Bring a smartphone or tablet with the app downloaded and ready to use. During the walk, you'll learn to use iNaturalist to identify invasive species and record observations to help track presence and spread.

• Accessibility: This walk is slow paced and will be on mostly flat surfaces but may also follow a mix of paved paths, and sidewalks. Please notify us of any accessibility requirements during the registration process.
