Introduction to Zen Meditation - Workshop

This workshop is an introduction to Zen meditation for beginners. There is no experience needed—just arrive and sit with us. During the workshop, you will get the opportunity to:
- Get instruction on posture and the Zen approach to sitting
- Meditate together for 20 minutes
- Debrief and ask questions
- Learn how to make meditation a part of your daily life
- We'll end with cookies and tea for those in the "Dirt Zendo" (our physical location), but the workshop is also accessible via Zoom.
No registration necessary! Just show up! Bring a friend for support. (Zendo will open by 12:45pm)
Location: 12020 NW Barnes Rd, Portland, OR 97229 (1:00PM - 3.00PM PST).

Info: Time to arrive, settle in, and get oriented to the space. A brief welcome and overview of the afternoon.

Info: A simple, accessible introduction to Zen practice, including posture, breath, and how to work with the mind during sitting.

Info: One extended period of meditation, with gentle guidance offered at the beginning. Chairs or cushions may be used.
