Introduction to Woodworking Taster Session: Make a Mini Jewellery Box
About this Event
Designed specifically for beginners, this hands-on taster session offers a practical introduction to woodworking through the creation of a mini lidded jewellery box.
Over the course of the evening, you'll experience a range of fundamental woodworking techniques. As you make your jewellery box, you'll be introduced to:
• Reading wood and understanding grain direction
• Measuring and marking accurately
• Basic sawing and drilling
• Shaping and smoothing using a plane and sanding
• Using dowel joints for assembly
• Applying a finish to complete your piece
This workshop is intended as a taster session, giving you the opportunity to experience a range of woodworking techniques and tools in a relaxed, supportive environment. It's ideal for anyone curious about woodworking and looking for a practical first step into the craft.
By the end of the session, you'll have a better understanding of the woodworking process, experience using a range of hand tools, and leave with a handmade jewellery box.
We keep group sizes small with a maximum of six participants per session.
