About this Event

About this event

Effective and timely bleeding control in the trauma or surgical patient can reduce patient morbidity and mortality, increase visibility in the operative field and may save a limb. Recognizing the urgency and applying suitable hemostatic maneuvers are key when managing these patients. In this course effective management of bleeding from all sized vessels will be addressed at different anatomical sites. Decision making on the most effective methods of bleeding control will be addressed from damage control to definitive vascular anastomosis. Various techniques including pressure, clip application and the use of energy devices and surgical anastomosis will be practiced on high fidelity synthetic, animal and bleeding biological models.

Learning outcomes:

After doing this course you will:

· Increase your proficiency and speed in hemostasis.

· Gain more confidence in timely decision making in various bleeding scenarios.
