In this one day workshop, we’ll delve into trauma-informed touch, so that your touch practise becomes safe, intentional and restorative.

Touch is a powerful healer. 🙌🏼
However, sometimes, even with good intentions, touch can feel unsafe, stir unresolved trauma and create re-traumatization.
🩺This workshop is perfect for:
- Bodyworkers who want to refine their understanding and application of touch (chiros, physios, myofascial workers)
- Therapists who want to integrate somatics and touch into their practise
- Doctors, nurses and other practitioners who come into physical contact with their patients
Some of the topics we will explore:
- Receptive touch vs manipulative touch (intention over outcome)
- Ab- reactions to touch / the cycle of re-traumatization
- The nervous system – exploring baselines, triggers and equalization
- Trauma’s impact on pain, mobility and receptivity to healing/repair
- Emotions and trauma stories embedded in the fascia – recognition and containment
- How to deal with unexpected emotional release
- Boundaries of care – when to touch, when not to touch, referral pathways
Participants will walk away feeling empowered to approach touch in ways that are safe for both the patient and the practitioner, clearer understanding of how patients may respond or react, and better ability to create a clear expectation of care, depending on the scope of treatment.
