The medicine wheel has been used in many cultures as a model for an awakened life. Emphasizing its connection to Lakota and Cherokee cultures, Sue Greer will explain how it can be used to connect us to the rhythm and cycles of the earth and to our own spirit.
The lessons of the medicine wheel are many, each of the directions in the wheel teaches us a clear way to be in the world. And as a whole, it shows us how to be in “right" relationships to ourselves, one another as community, our ancestors and to all life. In the class, we will create a wheel together and experience the power of the direction and harmony it can bring to us.
Rev.Greer experienced and studied the medicine wheel through several teachers and two different but unifying views- Lakota and Cherokee traditions. Her teachers were, Heyeosis Storm, Brooke Medicine Eagle, and Grandmother Twila.
$45 per participant. Handouts of the four directions and their meaning will be given. Greer will drum and show the meaning of the objects used to create a medicine wheel.
