Introduction to Special Weapons and Tactics Workshop (S.W.A.T.) for Actors

WCMG LLC’s Introduction to Special Weapons and Tactics Workshop (S.W.A.T.) for Actors in collaboration with Mosser Workshops is a hands-on tactical-training course specifically designed for actors and stunt professionals who want professional weapons training to not only look the part on set, but to understand why you are do certain things. This 8-hour classroom training course will give you the fundamentals skills and confidence to accurately and realistically portray any character where you are required to handle a firearm (i.e. handgun, shotgun, assault rifle, etc.).

The workshop’s primary instructor (Tredd Barton) is a current Law Enforcement Officer (LEO), certified PA High Explosive Blaster, veteran of the 10th Mountain Infantry Division, NRA Licensed Handgun Instructor, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, ATF licensed Explosive Manufacturer, and ATF Weapons Manufacturer, and has worked part-time as an on-set Armorer / Weapons Master for the past 7 years. He owns the largest machine gun rental business East of the Rockies as well as Washington County Tactical Range in SW PA.

Course content includes:

· Hazards of Blanks / Safety Concerns

· Military Team Movement vs S.W.A.T. Movement

· Weapon Nomenclature (Commonly used Firearms)

· Weapons Handling Skills (Law Enforcement / Military) Techniques

· Understanding firearm safety on set.

· Attendees will handle prop firearms under the watchful eye of our instructors and get to practice working with these weapons systems during reality-based training scenarios in a controlled environment.

NOTE: There will be no blanks or live ammo allowed during this classroom training.

Related Classes: Advanced S.W.A.T. Workshop for Actors is held at Washington County Tactical Range and this class expands on what you learned in the classroom workshop by taking you to a tactical range to live-fire weapons including pistols, revolvers, shotguns, rifles, and machine guns.
