Most plant processes are biologically driven, and healthy crops depend on a healthy soil microbiome. This class introduces the role of soil biology in nutrient cycling, nitrogen fixation, while also exploring how soil microbes influence pest pressure, disease, and environmental resilience. Farmers will leave with a stronger understanding of the living systems beneath their feet—and how to support them.

This class will prepare you for Advanced Soil Microbiology, the third workshop in the Healthy Soil Farmer Workshop Series.
