Step into the world of artisanal soap making this July with our introductory workshop where you'll craft your own natural soap using time-honoured methods. You will blend plant-based ingredients and select from an array of aromatic essential oils, including Calendula & Oat, Lavender & Rosemary, 4 Thieves, Lemongrass, or Geranium & Patchouli. Under the guidance of our experienced instructor - Sarah Ward - you'll master traditional techniques, shaping a loaf of soap that will yield 8-10 generously sized bars. Take home not only your handmade soap creation but also a comprehensive workbook packed with recipes and valuable insights into the craft of soap making, ensuring your newfound skills endure beyond the workshop.
All the essential ingredients, soap-making equipment, and safety gear are provided, so you can focus on unleashing your creativity in a safe and supportive environment. Just bring along your enthusiasm, an apron, a cardboard box large enough to accommodate a tetra pack, and an old beach towel or blanket for transporting your soap masterpiece. Embark on this enriching journey into the world of soap making, where creativity, tradition, and natural ingredients converge to create beauty in every bar.
This workshop is strictly limited to 10 spaces and booking in advance is essential. Tickets are £45, including materials.
Abbey House is not open to the general public and only those with a ticket to the workshop can be admitted into the grounds. Tickets are not refundable or transferrable to another activity or event. Strictly no dogs or other animals.
