Thinking or dreaming about buying land, growing your own food and living a simpler life?
About this Event

This workshop is aimed at people thinking about buying land, looking at the options, etc and is particularly aimed at those on a low budget.

Where can you buy land? How easy is it to get planning permission to live on it? What are the different models? How expensive is land and how hard is it to buy it?

The workshop will look at planning your smallholding. Deciding what you are aiming to get out of it and what you can do in the amount of time that you have available? Are you aiming to make a living or just enough to cover your costs?

What does basic land management entail? What legally do you need to do to keep different types of animal and how can you keep your costs down?

Juley has experience keeping poultry, sheep, pigs and goats and has an extremely large vegetable patch. In 2022 she has cleared an area for flowers.

The workshop will focus on the areas that interest the participants most.
