About this Event
Description: Shuttle tatting is a traditional lace-making craft using a small, boat-shaped tool called a shuttle. It is an early form of tatting, creating delicate lace for edgings, doilies, and jewelry and relying on basic double stitches and picots (small loops) to build complex designs.
Participants will learn
- How to prepare a shuttle and see different types of shuttles
- How to do basic knots, rings, chains and joins
- How to read tatting patterns
- Start a simple project, time and skill permitting

Participant Requirements: This class is for the absolute beginner!
Equipment to bring:
- Notebook/paper
- Pen/pencil, eraser
Material Cost: $15 payable to instructor
LDWS workshops are open to all. If a participant is less than 18 years old, they are required to have a parent or guardian present at all times.
The workshop is limited to 6 participants, please register early.
This class has a minimum number of 4 participants to proceed. If this number is not reached we’ll let you know about a week before the start of class. You will be refunded your full registration.
***Cancellation Policy: Participants who cancel their registration up to 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund. A participant who finds a replacement for his/her spot within 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 1 month of workshops (with no replacement found) and “no-shows” will not be refunded. If the Guild cancels a workshop for any reason, all registration fees will be refunded.
