Join T.A.P.E. Los Angeles for a comprehensive crash course introduction to shooting 16mm film on a motion picture Bolex camera!
This workshop will cover the ins and outs of Bolex Rex 16mm cameras, purchasing used cameras, using different film stocks, processing labs, and hand-processing options available to independent filmmakers. A special focus on the experimental limitlessness of the hand-wound Bolex camera. All levels of experience with filmmaking and media are welcome! Everyone will receive a 2K scan of the results afterward. Come join in on the fun of personal and experimental filmmaking on 16mm B&W film!
T.A.P.E. is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the preservation, exhibition, and creation of analog media, based out of Whammy! Analog Media. All equipment in this workshop is available for rent with T.A.P.E. Los Angeles at affordable prices for the public. See more at tapeanalog.org. This workshop is led by T.A.P.E. director Jessica G.Z. Jessica is T.A.P.E.’s founder and executive director. They are also an artist, projectionist, and home media preservationist.
