About this Event
[COMM-100] Introduction to Radio Communications

In this course you will learn how to effectively use VHF and UHF radios for short and long range communication. You will learn basic principles of radio theory, radio programming, repeaters, off grid power systems, antenna deployments, packet radio, licensing strategies, etiquette, and plenty more. Students will be offered lectures, hands-on labs, and exams to reinforce their knowledge. At the end of training, we will walk you through the GMRS application process. Start your radio journey.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1 x UV-5R Radio, Programming Cable, & Charger (Rental Packages Available for $25)
  • 1 x Windows/Linux Laptop w/ Charger

Prior to attending any KINETIC DIRECTIVES event, students must complete the liability form. You will not be permitted to join the students until a waiver has been submitted.



LEGAL NOTICE:

By registering, you agree to a background check. All students must be 18 years of age in order to participate in all KINETIC DIRECTIVES courses.

Full payment is due at registration. Cancellations more than 30 days before an event date will result in a 100% issued credit of the originally paid amount that can be applied towards future enrollment(s). Similarly, cancellations within 30 days of the event date will result in a 50% issued credit of the originally paid amount that can be applied towards future enrollment(s).

Accreditation requires a minimum of 4 students. If quorum is not reached, the class will be rescheduled and/or consolidated with another session.

Rescheduled events are NONREFUNDABLE, however, a full enrollment credit will be honored for all proposed or available future dates respectively.
