Introduction to Permaculture Course (Two Day Course)
About this Event
Our popular Introduction to Permaculture Course is back on the 11th-12th July. This time, thanks to National Lottery Awards for All funding, we are able to offer a number of fully funded places and subsidised places - our aim is to reach people out there who would really benefit from Permaculture training, taking the toolkit into their projects, communities and workplaces, and yet who might otherwise feel excluded from taking such courses by price.
This introductory course covers the fundamentals of this exciting and wide-ranging approach to living ecologically wherever we find ourselves.
You will learn about the ethical basis of Permaculture, look at the main principles of the Permaculture approach, and come away equipped to experiment with some of these techniques in your own projects.
You will be challenged to think afresh about how you meet your needs, about our shared need to build and strengthen communities, and you will be invited to start your design thinking from the very beginning of the course. You might also be asked to imagine that you are a beaver, a forest elephant or an inhabitant of a fictional village!
You’ll find more details about what you will learn on the course on our website: https://www.helygen.cymru/intro-to-permaculture
The course starts at 09:30 and runs until 16:30 on both the Saturday and the Sunday. If you feel able to bring some food to share for a potluck lunch that would be lovely - in the past we’ve found that individual contributions don’t have to be much for everyone to eat well, including those who didn’t feel able to bring anything themselves.
Otherwise, all you’ll need is your enthusiasm and a little imagination... bring a pen and paper if you’re a note taking sort of person but this isn’t an academic course and there are no tests. Materials for group exercises will be provided on the day.
We use a progressive, inclusive pricing structure to keep these courses accessible. Those choosing the Pay‑it‑Forward rate help fund supported places for people who would otherwise be unable to attend.
