Introduction to MIG Welding
About this Event
🔧 Intro to MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welding
In this class you will learn:
- How to cut metal using equipment
- Prepare metal using angel grinder
- Walk through how to set up a MIG welder, from choosing the correct settings and adjusting the regulator for the Argon/CO2 gas
- Practice tacking pieces together and creating consistent weld patterns
By the end of class, you will have made your own metal box to take home!
IMPORTANT - Waivers must be signed before start of class! .
🦺 Safety & Dress Code (Required)
For your safety, proper attire is mandatory:
- Closed-toed shoes made out of leather or canvas - no synthetic shoes
- Cotton or leather long pants and long sleeve shirt - no polyester
Be sure to bring a water bottle so you stay hydrated during the class.
If you are not dressed appropriately, you will not be able to participate in the class and the ticket will not be transferrable nor refundable.
👩🏭 About the Instructor
The class is taught by Lyndyn Frazer.
Lyndyn Frazer is a local artist from Atlanta, GA. They study metal fabrication, blacksmithing and casting at GSU. They are passionate about teaching and enthusiastic about sharing their love for welding to beginners and those who are curious about learning a new skill!
