About this Event
2 day workshop:
Saturday December 17th, 9:30-4:00pm &
Sunday, December 18th, 9:30-11:30am
This class is a chance to learn to make your own Fine Silver jewelry. By the end of class you will leave with completed pieces of Fine Silver jewelry designed by You! Perhaps a pendant, earrings, or even charms. You’ll work with an amazing medium called Precious Metal Clay or (PMC). PMC includes reclaimed silver suspended in a clay-like medium. It’s non-toxic and easy to work with.
Introduction to PMC will cover basic techniques including rolling, texturing, cutting, forming, sanding and finishing. We will demo torch firing PMC and discuss the difference between torch and kiln firing. Students will be able to create 3-5 pieces. This is a two day class; pieces are kiln fired after the first day. The second day students will have the opportunity to polish, patina and add findings to their fired pieces. You will leave with finished jewelry and hopefully a love of metal clay!
