Join us for an Introduction to Linocut course and explore the world of relief printing! In this two-week course, you’ll learn how to carve designs into linoleum blocks and turn your creations into beautiful prints. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, instructor Emily Gunning will guide you step-by-step through the carving, inking, and printing processes. By the end of the class, you’ll have your own unique art pieces and the skills to keep exploring this expressive medium.In this two-week course, you'll learn the fundamentals of relief printing with linoleum.
Class 1: Focuses on carving and transforming your designs into a relief medium.
Class 2: Covers printing, including single-color and multi-color techniques.
Some prior drawing or art experience is encouraged but not required. Come to the first class with sketches or ideas you want to carve into your 5” x 7” block.
This two-week course will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm on Friday, November 7 & 14, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.
Recommended age: 14 and up
