Introduction to Letterpress

Learn the basics of letterpress in this 6-hour workshop. You’ll get to set metal type in a composing stick, tie up your form, and pull a proof. From there, we’ll show you how to make adjustments, kern or track your type, and lock up the form on press.

You’ll also learn proper make-ready before printing a small edition of your finished work to take home and share.

By the end of the class, each participant will have created a set of 12 letterpress flat greeting cards. Envelopes will be provided.
