Introduction to Hand Drumming Six Week Class

Join Jared Bistrong of the Miami Sound Institute for a 6-Week introduction to Hand Drumming Course. Learn the basics of hand drumming. This is a Djembe Drum specific class and will help students develop a powerful cultivation practice around drumming that nurtures a personal meditation and wellness practice and provides students with a strong foundation for developing as a hand drummer. You will learn the history of different drum rhythms and percussion instruments, specific techniques and exercises and proper drumming etiquette. By joining this course you gain access to a video tutorial library that allows you to practice during the week between classes.

By joining this powerful drumming community, you will also have opportunities to play at live wellness & music events with the South Beach Sound Healing Orchestra who regulary facilitate large events in the community.

At the end of the six week session, you have an opportunity to join the ongoing drum class & membership.

No prior experience is necessary, however, participants must have their own djembe drum. Jared will have some drums for sale and use during the first class) and can help you find and purchase a drum prior to the start of class as well.

Classes will be held at "The Art Garage" in Little River Miami.

After the course finishes, students can continue coming to drum class in the drum membership program.
