Introduction to Government Contracting
About this Event
Government agencies buy almost everything small businesses sell, but most owners never get past the paperwork.
This introductory workshop covers the basics in plain language: how to register in SAM.gov and state and local systems, which certifications are worth pursuing for your business, how to read a solicitation, where to find opportunities at the city, county, state and federal level, and how to position a small company to win as a subcontractor first.
Queen Kima of Queen Kima Fractional COO leads the session and has coached B.I.D. Academy participants through the contracting process this fall.
This is the right starting point if you have heard “get certified” and never knew what to do next.
