• Introduction to different fabric types (woven vs. knit).

• Content:
• Sewing standard seams (straight stitch, backstitching).
• Pressing techniques (the secret to professional-looking garments!).
• Finishing raw edges (zigzag or serger/overlocker alternatives).
• Sewing French seams (for a clean finish on lightweight fabrics).

• Focus: Translating your paper pattern into fabric and learning basic shaping methods.

• Content:
• Understanding pattern markings and terminology.
• Laying out and cutting fabric correctly (on-grain).
• Transferring markings (darts, notches) to fabric.
• Techniques for shaping: sewing darts and basic gathering.

Date: 7th February 11 am - 1 pm

• Focus: Assembling the main body of your garment.
• Content:
• Step-by-step assembly of the project garment (following pattern instructions).
• Inserting basic elastic waistbands/casings.
• Basting and fitting checks (the importance of trying before fully sewing).

Date: 21st February 11 am - 1 pm

• Focus: Adding the final details that make a garment complete and ready to wear.

• Mastering different hemming techniques (turn-and-stitch, blind hem).
• Applying facings or simple bias binding (if applicable to the project).
