Synopsis
Play and Creative Arts Therapists know the power of using the creative process for healing, development and wellbeing. Increasingly there is more and more neuro-biological evidence about the power of the arts and play to heal, assist in positive learning experiences and promote wellbeing.
Post pandemic frontline workers, therapists, teachers and even corporate executives would all benefit from the opportunity to harness their creative playful processes to move beyond the long term stress of the pandemic and cost of living crisis.
In a time of austerity, anxiety and burnout the power of playfulness has something important to offer and AECC University College is uniquely positioned to offer this opportunity to the education sector, the welfare and health sector, local government and private institutions.
Learning aims for participants
1) To understand the theory and practice of playfulness for wellbeing and learning
2) To explore and articulate the importance of non-verbal play and creativity and illustrate an ability to reflect on their own play process
3) To identify and evaluate the importance of embodied play and creativity and how to harness these for wellbeing
4) To evaluate the key role of playfulness in their personal and professional lives
5) To apply principles of creative practice in their work.
