About this Event

This learning circle will meet in-person at North York Central Library, every Wednesday morning, 10-11:30 AM, from July 25 to August 21, 2024 (five sessions).

Participants will learn together in a peer-supported environment through a learning circle, a lightly facilitated study group guided by library staff for people who want to take a free online course together in a welcoming space. Participants are expected to commit to the duration of the course and attend all learning circle sessions.

This 5-week course introduces learners to basic concepts in data science, including introductory analytics, data collection, data storage, AI and machine learning.

Why learn Data Science?

This is a beginner level course for people who are interested in exploring a career in Data Science. You will learn the basics of data science, data analytics, and data engineering to understand how machine learning is shaping the future of business, healthcare, education, and more. Data science professionals who can provide actionable insights for data-driven decisions are in high demand all over the world.
