The Lorraine Morris Memorial shoot
LAA Introduction to Competition Shoot is an Official LAA Tournament.
The day is about giving information and building confidence in newer/inexperienced archers who are starting to look at competing.
Participant requirement defined as:
Any archer who has never previously attended a Judged or Record Status Shoot
The round is a national round
4 dozen at 60 yards
2 dozen at 50 yards
Total, 6 dozen, shot in ends of 6.
If there are sufficient spaces, experienced club archers may shoot – one on each boss – to facilitate scoring, help build confidence and problem solving.
Date : Saturday the 5th September 2026, assembly 10:45AM, Sighters 11:00AM.
You have to be a member of Archery GB, AGB cards need to be shown on the day.

The shoot will be conducted under UK record status/world record status rules, and the LAA Chronotir lighting system will be used at this shoot, but with latitude given with regards to the archers being newer and/or inexperienced.
The shoot will have 4 archers on each boss, and shooting will be in two details.
There will be a short presentation (lasting about 45 mins) by LAA Judges at the start of the shoot – this will include: what to expect at competitions, etiquette, inspections, scoring, bouncers, lighting systems etc.
There will be question and answer sessions at relevant points during the shoot.
Medals will be presented at the end of the shoot, following a round-up of the day.
LAA medals will be given to all participants. (There will be no winners or losers)
Both club and County records can be claimed at this shoot, as it is a judged shoot.
There will be food and drinks available to buy before and during the shoot.
