This class is a 15 week series introducing Cabaret and Burlesque Performance Art. It is open to ANY person of ANY gender identity, as long as they are 18 years of age or older. Over the course of this class you will learn elements of cabaret dancing and burlesque performance, as well as how to construct a number, and elements of costuming and stage makeup as well as the history of burlesque and common modern styles.
There will be occasional guest lectures and workshops from other performers. At the end we will have 5 weeks of rehearsals for an optional student showcase demonstrating the number you have created.
Tuition for this course includes the following:
- 10 weeks of instruction (Monday's at 9pm for 90 minutes)
- 5 rehearsals
- Participation in the grinduation/student showcase (Saturday, May 16th)
- Class pass to ALL workshops offered on Saturday, March 21st as part of the "Cyberpunk" burlesque show.
- A General Admission ticket to my "Cyberpunk" burlesque show on Saturday, March 21st.
If you register by Sunday, January 4th, 2026, the price is $400. After that the price goes to $475. You may also do a drop-in rate of $50 per class (however this does not include participation in the rehearsals or showcase). Payment plans and discounts are available for certain circumstances. Please direct message if you have questions, concerns, interest, and to register. Online payments and credit cards are accepted. Signing up for the facebook event is not registering for the class.
