This workshop will introduce participants to some of the basic tools and materials used in bookbinding, including needles, awls, folders, wax, and thread. Using these tools and materials, we will learn how to make a blank pamphlet stitch book - this is a wonderful bookbinding method for beginners, and can be made quickly and in high volumes, which is ideal for making small self-published pamphlets, be it for artwork, poetry, or political pamphlets.
The first half of the workshop will be for making the books, and in the second half of the workshop we will use our books to create artwork, illustrations, poems etc. to respond to the questions: what does Pride mean to you? What might a queer utopia look like?
To take part in the workshop, you will need to purchase a ticket on eventbrite.
All materials and tools will be provided.
All net proceeds (i.e. minus Eventbrite fees) from the ticket sales for this workshop will be donated to Cork Community Pride.
