Introduction to Blacksmithing: Forging Nails (April 17th, 2025)

Summary: This course will cover the one of the oldest forms of blacksmithing: forging nails.

Description:

Forging nails is the ideal starting point for those interested in blacksmithing. Making nails has been one of the oldest forms of blacksmithing for centuries and was usually the first task learned of any blacksmithing apprentice. This course will teach students the proper terms, techniques, and protocols required to successfully create usable nails.

There are no prerequisites required for this class and any and all skill levels are welcomed.

All tools and material will be provided.

About the Instructor: Lucas Aguilar is a University of Georgia graduate with a major in Studio Art. You can usually find Lucas (also known as Luca) building furniture, welding, or dressing sets. He has two cats and a Youtube series called "Hey How's That Work With Luca." Before all of this, he used to fix fancy wristwatches.

A: Each class has a maximum of 8 people. Ideally, participants will attend all three classes.

A: Students must be above the age of 15, Students under 18 will either need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian or will require additional permission paperwork.

A: All equipment will be provided for you.

Q: Is my registration/ticket transferable?

A: Yes, please notify us before ticket sales end about any transfer of purchase.

Q: What is the refund policy?

A: We will refund any ticket requested for any reason up to 7 days before the course date. If possible we will make every effort to transfer tickets to future course dates if contacted more than 24 hours before the course begins. If the class cannot run as scheduled, purchaser will have the option of a full refund or credit towards ta future class.
