Introduction to Basket Weaving - with Johanna Koen

About the Event:
Ever wanted to make your own basket? Now's your chance!

Join our guest facilitator, Johanna Koen, in the beautiful Salisbury Centre garden to learn the wonderful art of basket weaving! All materials will be provided. Participants will learn how to weave a basket and can take their project home at the end. This session is suitable for all experience levels and is particularly beginner-friendly.

Optional pre-event activities:

From 11:00 AM, you are welcome to join our community permaculture garden open session, which will include coppicing hazel from our own coppice to use in the weaving workshop alongside pre-bought materials.

A free communal potluck lunch will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Please bring a vegetarian dish if you wish to attend.

The workshop will be held outdoors if weather permits; otherwise, it will take place indoors. Please dress warmly.

About the Facilitator:
Johanna Koen is an experienced wildcrafter, community gardener, and herbalist based in Edinburgh. You can find out more about them here.

The Library is fully accessible.

The Salisbury Centre’s kitchen door and toilet are now wheelchair accessible. The Garden can also be accessed by wheelchairs via a movable ramp via the Art Room Annex. Please let the organisers know in advance of any access requirements. Additionally, if relevant, please fill in this PEEP template and share it with the organisers.
