Introduction to Bellydance Props: Embellish Your Dance!Belly Dance Basics - Workshop 7
Come join us for this thrilling and exciting workshop as we learn to add stunning additions to your dance!
Bellydance props elevate your performance by adding beauty, drama, and artistry skills to your movements. Whether you’re aiming for soft and graceful or bold and dynamic, props can create visual magic for your audience and add expression to your dance.
What You Will Learn:
In this fun and practical workshop, we’ll explore at least five movements with each of the following props — giving you a rich toolkit to embellish your dance and develop your confidence using these stunning additions:
Veils – a classic prop adding mystery & flow to your dance - often used to frame and enhance movements or for dramatic entrances - you will learn how your veil can become your perfect dance partner! We will cover veil turns, side veil, scoops and sweeps, angel wings, a travel step with the veil and even a wrap too..
Cane – often used in folkloric styles adding earthy element and fun to your dance. We will learn how to hold the cane, how to twirl the cane and some lovely useful frames and tricks too!
Isis Wings – Goddess-like and visually breathtaking, these wings bring grandeur and powerful stage presence. We’ll explore dramatic movements that maximise their effect.
Fan Veils – Inspired by their Chinese origins, fan veils combine the elegance and grace of fans with with the beautiful fluidity and flow of silk veils. Perfect for gorgeous expressive movements and guaranteed to add wow factor to your dance!
All props will be provided to borrow on the day.
This workshop is a great opportunity to play, experiment, and add new dimensions to your dance.
Please note: Zills (finger cymbals) are not included in this workshop — they’ll be getting their own spotlight in a dedicated session soon!
Open to all levels - this workshop is suitable for beginners through to dancers with previous Bellydance experience.
