About this Event
The first part of the course will revolve around the basics of the camera, identifying general camera information, dials, and buttons. Then the course will discuss basic techniques to help you get comfortable with the camera, holding it, and using it in the field; some basic photography tips will also be discussed.
For the second part of the course, attendees will break into smaller groups and work with a member of the Doña Ana Photography Club. Here they will be able to ask specific questions about their cameras and get hands-on help. After some hands-on time, groups will go out and get some practice “in the field.” They will have plenty of opportunities to practice things they learned and be able to ask questions while out taking pictures. Participants will then return and have a chance to review and discuss their photos and ask any final questions.
A DAPC member will lead the workshop; other members from the club will be on hand to help out during the hands-on section.
Space is limited; if you have any questions contact Rob Peinert at [email protected].
This course will take place Saturday, January 17th from 9 am to noon at the Parish Hall at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church - 518 Alameda Blvd, Las Cruces, NM 88005.
There is a $30 fee for the Photography Bootcamp class series, and this includes attendance at all 4 classes as well as 2026 membership dues for the Doña Ana Photography Club (normally $15 each year). Payment for the series is due when you arrive to your first class, and there is no option to pay for just a single class.
