Progression Sessions
Ready to fully dive in? We’ve got you covered! This 3-session BGOW Progression Package is designed to grow your abilities over each lesson.
Led by Max Robinson of the Toronto Windsurfing Club, this hands-on program takes place in downtown Toronto on July 26, August 16, and August 29, 2026. A fun, beginner-friendly environment to learn the fundamentals of windsurfing. Each 2-hour session includes on-water practice and personalized instruction.
Progression Package – 3-Session Series (Your ticket covers all 3 sessions)
Dates: July 26, August 16, and August 29, 2026
Cost: $152.50 (+HST and Eventbrite fees)(Usually $270+HST)
This comprehensive learning experience is ideal for those ready to develop their windsurfing skills over three sessions. Each lesson builds on the last to help you progress confidently on the water.
Week 1: Getting Started - July 26, 2026 @5:00 P.M.
- Introduction to windsurfing equipment
- Basic windsurfing theory and safety
- Learning to balance and stand on the board
- First steps in handling the sail
Week 2: Building Skills - August 16, 2026 @5:00 P.M.
- Improving balance and control
- Steering and turning techniques
- Understanding wind direction and how to use it to your advantage
- Practice sessions on the water
Week 3: Progression and Development - August 29, 2026 @5:00 P.M.
- Advanced steering and turning
- Speed control and maintaining stability
- Introduction to basic tricks and maneuvers
- Personalized feedback and tips for continued improvement
Here's what you need:
Swimwear and a t-shirt (quick dry if possible) to wear on the water
Hat, sunglasses (with strap), and sunscreen
Towel and a change of dry clothes
Backpack or gym bag
Snacks and fluids (we have a fridge)
A padlock for your locker (optional)
NEED TO KNOW:
All necessary windsurfing equipment, including life jackets and wetsuits, will be provided. Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early for each session for check-in and setup.

How to get there:
Toronto Windsurfing Club is accessible via public transit from Union Station to Cherry Beach. A short 15-minute walk along the bike path will lead to our location on Regatta Road.
We know fun will be the order of the day! So come prepared!
This event is designed exclusively to empower women and AFAB folks from Black, Indigenous and racialized communities.

Waivers and photography consent will be provided upon registration. We capture images of our events to ensure folks can see themselves represented in different outdoor activities. If, for any reason, you do not wish to be photographed, please ensure this is noted on the waiver. While we aim to respect all wishes, any photos taken specifically as a group will be shared with the BGOW community, but will not be used to generate any financial compensation.
