Intro to Western Papermaking Workshop at Fresh Press

Discover the Art of Papermaking!

Join us on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, from 11 AM – 2 PM at Fresh Press Studio (2116 S Griffith Dr, Champaign) for an immersive Intro to Western Papermaking workshop.

Perfect for beginners, this hands-on session will guide you through every step of the traditional Western papermaking process — from pulling sheets with a mould and deckle to pressing and drying your very own handmade paper. We’ll be working with miscanthus and cotton fibers to create beautiful, sustainable sheets you can take pride in.

This workshop also serves as a prerequisite for our Open Studio sessions, held on select Wednesdays (check our website or Instagram for dates and details).

To reserve your spot, payment is required at registration. Once you’re signed up, you’ll receive a confirmation email with everything you need to know about a week before the workshop.
