Intro to Watercolor at Dallas Makerspace

Painting with watercolor is a wonderful and easy to medium to learn. This class is for anyone who wants to learn watercolor basics such as:

How watercolor paints work

Wet on Wet technique

Wet on dry technique

Color bleeds

Overlays and layering

No experience needed. This class will take the basics of watercolor and how watercolor is used in self-expression. Watercolor is activated by "water" and no other mediums are needed.

We will learn with tube watercolors, water control with the brush, best watercolor paper and supplies to use, how to lighten/darken color values with watercolor, color mixing, how to use the "wet on wet" techniques, "wet on dry", color bleeds and how to layer colors.

Watercolor, palettes, water cups, brushes and paper will be provided.

Gena is a visual artist who specializes in modern calligraphy, drawing/sketching, watercolor, and has her B.A. in Visual Arts from McNeese State University. She loves the mental peace and escape that watercolor gives her in this often crazy and hectic world.
